Who knew the American President would visit me on my Travels to France for Bastille Day.. Just Kidding! After watching CNN show President Trump and the French President Macron awkwardly shake hands a few times and the Bastille day Parade just about a mile away from our apartment, we were all packed and ready to leave for Versailles. The trip from Paris to Versailles is a very short one. Our Uber took approx 30 minutes. I absolutley love the Trainon Palace and I think I completly spoiled myself because I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when I visit Versailles.  Our Welcome Drink … ahh!! They always offer a complimentary drink for SPG members and its just so nice. Afterwards we settled in a bit, and I wasn’t completely feeling my best and I started to organize my pictures since I had good wifi and Anthony went to the pool. To be honest I actually went with him – I was just gonna hang out but not actually go in the pool until I realized there was no wifi in the pool area so I ended up going back to the room

Dinner at the Gordon Ramsey’s Restaurant

This dinner was so yummy! We opted to do one appetizer and two main dishes. Anthony and I opted for the ravioli with lobster as our first course. I cannot say anything other than it was all delicious. Nothing bad to say and the highlights were the big chunks of lobster in the ravioli and the huge selection of freshly baked bread and the flowers in my food. Anthony said his favorite was the lobster ravioli. I have to mention the French really know how to dress other food.. their sauces are not like American- their sauces seem to compliment the food without drown it. The staff at the restaurant was really friendly. We made them aware of our event.  They knew we were headed to the show and really tried to help us get there on time. And the complimentary dessert and a special gift was so perfect for a midnight snack.

Here is my video recap of our day.

What a day! From Paris to the Trianon Palace Hotel in Versailles …then having dinner at the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant inside the hotel and finally going to a firework show “Louis XIV Le Roi De feu Festival” at the Jardin de L’ Orangeire at Versailles Palace.

PIN IT!Complimentary starters: Tuna with sesame & duck liver with pear & salad (the salad literally tasted like the most finest cheese with veggies. It had mini croutons and crisp veggies and fennel and a carrot with radicchio – All so yummy).

Starter: Ravioli was a large ravioli that they placed the spinach and lime sauce on top. It was Anthony’s favorite.

My Main Dish: My Fish was so yummy with its light but decadent butter sauce. The Little potatoes nicely roasted and soft shrimp with flower were too pretty!

The complimentary dessert was a sorbet with lime, yuzu and basil with some mini chocolate pastries.

Firework show at Versailles

Then there was the show at night..  a firework show  “Louis XIV Le Roi De feu Festival” at the Jardin de L’ Orangeire at Versailles Palace. I really felt as if I was at a Cirq du Soleil type of show, but in France and at Versailles of all places. I Looooved it!! See it here below 🙂 It was at the Garden of orange trees at the Chateau of Versailles.
