Day trip, Barcelona to Sitges, Spain

On my first Trip to Barcelona Spain I wanted to get away to a smaller beach town, ( since the beaches in Barcelona were very crowded) for a little more of a quaint beach feel.

So If you too want to get away from the many tourists in Barcelona, you got to go Sitges too!
SITGES is a small village along the ocean and has become a popular place for many locals to go to the beach away from too many tourists.

It’s about 1 hour – 1.5 hours south of Barcelona and you can get there by the train. It’s easier than it may sound so go!

You’ll enjoy seeing this quaint towns’ architecture, eat some good food, and relax at it pretty beach.

Heres some of the unique architecture I found on my walk from the train to the beach once I arrived…

By the time we got there (we got up pretty late in the morning) We were starving and I thought we’d make it to the beach and picnic with something wed grab on the way to the beach.. but then I ran into this cute alleyway headed to the beach and ran into this adorable authentic restaurant. You can totally tell only locals come here, otherwise you were randomly finding your way through windy alleys on your way to the beach like me.

OK – Now back to the Beach… After a yummy meal and a free shot of the house digestif , we were finally headed to lay like beachbums and work on our tans… So down the pretty alley to the beach.

But down the alley we went and got distracted by the beautiful Church (Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla) and statue on the hill… I mean Look how pretty! (see Below). Then, finally I made it to layout amongst all the locals and many whom also came here from Barcelona (there were many on the train that were in beach attire from Barcelona that got of here too ). I mean it’s definitely a bit calmer than Barceloneta Beach, and the town is adorable with many shops too.
