Inglenook Winery just before dark fell (Rutherford, CA)
A day trip to Napa from San Francisco, for me, meant rushing to a few wineries but saving my favorite (Inglenook Winery) for the grand finale. It was perfect at this magic hour, just when the sun started to go down. The 1st picture above was taken when we left and I loved the look of this estate at night. I have been here two other times during the day and adored the look and feel of the estate, but I’d never saw it during the evening with all of the gorgeous lighting… so beautiful!
This is not just my favorite winery because it’s beautiful but also because Francis Ford Coppola owns this winery. The Godfather is my absolute favorite movie! Coppola bought the winery and estate with profits from The Godfather movie in 1975. On my very first trip to Napa about 7 years ago, I had to come see my favorite movies directors winery (not to mention I love Sofia Coppola too). And ever since my first visit, I can’t resist making it a must anytime I come back to Wine Country.
The estate is easy to walk around and enjoy. The place has tons of fun cellar like rooms (pictured below) that you can roam while sipping wine you get from the cute bar/tasting room (pictured below). The estate also has memorabilia (pictured below) of Francis Ford Coppola. Hope you get a chance to visit and if you do… Try the RC Reserve Syrah (pictured below).
HAPPY VISITING AND DRINKING!
