While We Were Young, NYC
Light fare // pretty cocktails //gorgeous decor //
… this was the perfect place to meet my girlfriend Anita for a lunch date.
Actually, it was our first time hanging out one on one, (without the whole crew of 10 or so of us) and we had such a pretty “Ladies who Lunch” date. (I have to say Anita was picture perfect in pink matching the While We Were Young restaurant’s decor. Right?! *see pic below!)

So to be quite honest I found this place on Instagram :). I do not remember whom shared the photo but I remember see the profile of this cute restaurant and thinking .. “hey I so wanna have brunch there with my girlfriends”. So when Anita texted me to meet for a lunch date I immediately thought to suggest this place. The Decor is super girly, roses and florals everywhere, and pink and gold colors to make many gals wanna bring their girlfriends too. I was so happy Anita agreed to meet here beacause it was truly a fun “Ladies who Lunch” type of afternoon in New York City’s West Village.
What We Ate:

Roasted Squash butternut squash with their house made ricotta, roasted nuts and honey
Cheese Tortellini Pasta with Peas, a very light white sauce, parmesan and pepper flakes.
Both were perfect for me! Anita favored the butternut quash as it was pretty unique flavors and super yummy. And typical of me I couldn’t decide what I liked best. I agreed that the squash was super yummy and totally out of anything I would have thought to put together (honey and squash, etc.) But I also loved the pasta because its a very similar dish I make for myself at home, but this ones much more fancy. I love peas and pasta with a little hot chili flakes.

We both had a yummy fresh glass of Rose, that was perfect for the afternoon. But after the Rose…then came our fun cocktails (it was in the daytime* LOL).
I chose the “text from Last Night” (hard to tell there was mezcal in it at all, and it had more of a floral taste to it) and Anita had the “Tropic Like its Hot.”
The cocktails were good but I have to say the names are even better 🙂 ! I’m sure the cocktails are conversation starters amongst girlfriends whom lunch here all the time.
Hope you enjoyed and go visit… Leave me a comment here or on IG! XOXO -R.
