Le Meridien Piccadilly Circus, London REVIEW

Here’s Highlights & Overall review of my stay at  Le Meridien Piccadilly Circus, London

I recently just came back from London and I stayed as a Starwood preferred guest at the Le Meridien Piccadilly Circus.  As a Starwood preferred guest I had access to the club lounge so my stay was a bit nicer than if I were a regular guest.

In the Le Meridien Preferred Guest Club Lounge there is unlimited beer, wine, water, and sodas/ very light breakfast options/ and evening snacks include cheeses, meats, fruits, and one or two hot appetizers. The club level staff are truly very nice and helpful. The Lounge has 2 different rooms; one open to view the main lobby and another tucked away. Having a lot of water water and wine 🙂 plus the breakfast with coffee saved us some extra dough and time with cocktails before dinner and having to find breakfast. P.S. If you like CNN news, which I do, it is playing all day long in the club lounge.

LOCATION

Originally I did not want to stay in the Piccadilly Circus area and wanted to stay in Chelsea area; however, the Le Meridien was recommended to us and so that steered our decision. I had read that the Piccadilly Circus area was similar to a busy bustling tourist area, which didn’t seem like what I wanted, however it’s nothing like Times Square in NYC, it’s a really convenient location.  I was able to go to one of the best tea’s I ever had just across the street (at Fortnum and Mason *see it here!), a short walk to Bond Street where I bought my first pair of church’s shoes, and I had a really nice run around the area the morning before I left. If you want to shop, this is a great area! You can head to Bond Street just a few streets away, and you’ll have all the shopping you can need. We specifically came to make it into Wimbledon (see my experience at Wimbeledon here and how we got in ) and so too did many other guests and families that were staying in the hotel. After it all, I was very happy with the hotel location.

GYM

I love to take advantage of Hotel gyms when I can. The gym at Le Meridien Piccadilly Circus London was one of my favorites during my european travels this summer. I tend to see not the best gyms from European hotels, but the gym at Le Meridien was definitely on the larger and nicer side. See the video to see the size, the equipment and more. there are many locations designed or all types of types of exercise. In summary there’s a pool, a squash court, a cardio area, 2 different weight training areas, and my favorite: a *mediation room.

FOOD

As  a preferred guest I did not need to pay for additional food from the restaurant, since my breakfast, snacks, wine and other beverage needs were all met with the club level. I did go to see the restaurant and the buffet, for the purposes of my review. The buffet was a large buffet that I would recommend and the restaurant is in a beautiful room. The club level room food was appetizers, cheeses and meats. They were so-so but I took advantage of restaurants I wanted to go to, outside of the hotel. The club level breakfast was sufficient for me: with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, ham, cheese, french bread, cereal and most importantly coffee. The club level unlimited drinks is what was most helpful.

ROOMS

You will see in the video that we had at first a smaller room on the 9th floor with a great view and an updated bathroom, but eventually we chose to move to a larger room that fit our luggage better lol. We ended up on the 4th floor in a room, double the size, with no view, and an older bathroom. We didn’t mind the older style, since we really liked the size of the room as we were stating for 5 days. I just wished the room was a bit brighter.

Things to note:

  • The concierge was always busy and very hard to get on the line, anytime we called.
  • It may be best to go down in person to talk to anyone to get needs met.
  • I suggest upgrading to the preferred lounge if possible.
  • It is a family friendly hotel, but not an all family hotel by any means.
  • If you like to workout you will like this hotel, since the gym is really large.
  • In the older room the bathroom outlets were impossible to use a hair dryer. Make sure to bring adapters for your electronics – preferable one charger that can charge multiple devices since outlets are very limited. See what I took with me below.

Hope you find my review helpful !

I would also recommend these three other hotel that I had on my list for London:
Sydney House Hotel, London
CitizenM Bankside Hotel
Saint James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, London
Enjoy your stay in London!
